Bette and I went to see Mind Frame at Sam’s Burger Joint on Friday. Some of our friends were also there, and we took some photos.
Bette’s friend Erika graduated from Texas State University on Friday, and we both went to the ceremony and Erika’s after-party. It was a lot of fun! There was good food and even a karaoke machine. On a related note, it seems that Erika’s family members are not familiar with David Allan Coe’s You Never Even Call Me By My Name.
Bette and I went with my roommates Monty and Mike to Leon Springs to see Micky and the Motorcars. As always, Micky and the gang put on a great show. We picked up a CD and Bette had it signed by Micky himself. Plus, I got a picture of them together!
Bette, my roommate Monty, and I all went to Wurstfest in New Braunfels on Friday night. We met up with our friends Andy and Elias and had a lot of fun eating bratwurst and listening to polka music.
We had a bunch of friends over for a BBBQ (BYOB BBQ) at my house on Sunday. I grilled a bunch of fajitas and Bette made some wonderful potato salad. We all ate way too much food and then played some Donkey Konga on the big screen. Then we learned a lot about each other by playing some Loaded Questions on the back patio until it was too dark to see.
For Bette’s birthday, I gave her a pair of tickets to see the Dave Matthews Band in Dallas. She’s a huge fan, so she was really excited to go. I have to say that they put on a really good live show. They’re quite the jam band, and I thought that the trumpet player, Rashawn Ross, was simply phenomenal. They didn’t allow cameras at the concert, but on the way back we met some of Bette’s friends in Austin. It was the first time I got to meet Olivia, Adrian, Erika, and Raymund. These are some of Bette’s closest friends, and I was fully expecting to be grilled and cross-examined to no end. I caught a break because her friends were all either ill or tired, so I guess I’ll have to wait to make a good second impression!
Oh, and there was a car covered in stuffed animals. Yeah. Weird.
Today is Bette’s 26th birthday! I wish her all the best.
We all had fun celebrating her birthday on Saturday.
Bette invited a bunch of her friends to Applebee’s in Uvalde to celebrate her birthday on Saturday night. It was karaoke night, and we all had a lot of fun singing. Bette sang the most, followed closely by me. We were even getting requests from other patrons.
Bette, my roommate Monty, and I all went to see Mind Frame play at Bonds 007 Rock Bar in downtown San Antonio. As always, Mind Frame put on a solid show. We all had a blast! We’ll definitely have to do it again sometime!
FYI, our friend Andy is the bass player for Mind Frame. Even though he may not have directly introduced Bette and me to each other, he is in his own way responsible for Bette and I getting together. So in a way, it’s all his fault!
