Inks Lake or Bust
Bette and I went on a mini-vacation last week in the Texas Hill Country. The main attraction was Inks Lake. The weather was perfect and the water was relaxing. Next time we’ll have to bring some friends and have a big barbecue on the lake.
Nerd Prom!
Last weekend, Bette and I drove up to Austin, Texas to attend the Dudley and Bob Flashback Prom at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Town Lake. This year’s theme was “Revenge of the Nerds,” so we totally got all decked out for the event. The prom featured live music by The Spazmatics, an 80s New Wave retro cover band consisting of four guys acting like total nerds.
We had the greatest time. It was definitely the best prom ever! Bette even got her picture taken with Dale and Charlie from the Morning Show.
Reckless Kelly
Bette, Monty, I all went to John T. Floore’s Country Store in Helotes on Saturday to see one of our favorite bands, Reckless Kelly. Those guys always put on a great show and sure can draw a big crowd. It was a blast!
Mmmm…Steak.
For my birthday, Bette invited a bunch of my friends and family to go out and eat at one of my favorite restaurants, Shorty’s Place, in Falls City, Texas. I had a 30oz sirloin, and it was delicious. Afterward, we met up with some other friends in San Antonio at Hotshots Billiards to watch our friend Andy’s band Mind Frame play. Andy was also celebrating his birthday that day. Cheese and Irma
This weekend, Bette and I went to a wedding in Eagle Pass, Texas. Her friend from college, Cheese, and his girlfriend, Irma, were getting married. We both had a great time and we took a bunch of photos.
So very, very cold!
Bette and I went to Colorado to visit my brother, Michael, his wife, Kyla, and their daughter, Sydney. We all had a wonderful time hanging out and playing in the snow, and cannot wait to go back. Here are some photos from the trip.
